Meet Emily Kuhn, LMSW
Clinical Leadership | EMDR Certified Therapist
Hi, I’m Emily. I’m a mom of two boys, a crafter, a home-renovation-project enthusiast, and someone who enjoys spending sunny weekends at local farmers markets or walking with my border collie.
I bring that same grounded, genuine energy into therapy. I believe meaningful change becomes possible when you have a space where you can be yourself, understand what shaped you, and receive compassionate support that is also honest and direct.
Together, we will work toward helping you feel more connected, grounded, and able to make choices that reflect the life you want now.

Who May Be a Good Fit
Emily may be a good fit if you understand why you respond in certain ways but still struggle to change the pattern. You may find yourself overthinking, people-pleasing, feeling guilty when you set boundaries, shutting down during conflict, or repeating painful dynamics in your relationships.
She also works with children and teens experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, emotional or behavioral challenges, and oppositional defiant disorder.
What Makes Emily’s Approach Different
Emily is warm, direct, and down-to-earth. She creates a space where clients can show up honestly and feel understood, while also receiving clear feedback about the patterns that may be keeping them stuck.
She does more than listen and nod. Emily helps clients understand what is happening beneath their reactions and identify practical ways to respond differently. Her work focuses on building emotional regulation, developing healthier boundaries, strengthening relationships, and processing experiences that continue to affect the present.
Emily’s goal is not simply to help clients cope with what happened. She helps them reach a place where the past has less influence over how they feel, relate to others, and make decisions.

Experience With Families and Community Systems
Emily has over 10 years of experience working with children, teens, adults, and families affected by trauma, displacement, mental health challenges, and complex family circumstances.

This experience gives her a practical understanding of how overwhelming it can be to navigate schools, agencies, healthcare systems, and family responsibilities while also managing emotional distress.
