ACCESS FOR EVERYONE

Accessibility Statement

Suffolk Family Therapy is committed to making our website, information, and services accessible to people with disabilities.

We view accessibility as an ongoing responsibility and welcome feedback when something creates a barrier.

Last updated: September 16, 2026

Our Accessibility Goal

Our goal is to provide a website that can be used by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, voice-recognition software, magnification, captions, and other assistive technologies.

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG 2.2 Level AA, as our current technical goal and accessibility framework. Because websites, content, and technologies change over time, accessibility requires continued review and improvement.

Accessibility Measures

Our ongoing accessibility work includes attention to:

  • Logical heading structure
  • Keyboard-accessible navigation
  • Visible keyboard focus indicators
  • Sufficient contrast between text and backgrounds
  • Text that can be resized or enlarged
  • Meaningful alternative text for informative images
  • Blank alternative text for purely decorative images
  • Descriptive links and buttons
  • Clearly labeled forms and instructions
  • Error messages that explain how to correct a problem
  • Captions or transcripts for video and audio content when appropriate
  • Avoiding the use of color alone to communicate information
  • Mobile and responsive layouts
  • Documents and resources that can be used with assistive technology whenever reasonably possible

Automated accessibility tools may assist with identifying certain issues, but automated testing cannot identify every barrier. Manual review and feedback from people using assistive technologies are also important parts of accessibility work.

Assistance Accessing Our Website

If you have difficulty accessing any part of this website, please contact us.

When reporting a problem, it is helpful to include:

  • The page or document you were trying to access
  • A description of the difficulty
  • The device, browser, or assistive technology you were using
  • Your preferred method of receiving a response

We will make reasonable efforts to provide the information or service through an accessible alternative while we evaluate the issue.

Accessing Our Services

If you need a disability-related accommodation, reasonable modification, communication aid, or information in an alternative format to access our services, please let our administrative team know.

We will work with you to understand the request and identify an appropriate option. Requests may relate to:

  • Scheduling or completing intake paperwork
  • Accessing telehealth services
  • Communication during appointments
  • Receiving documents in an alternative format
  • Navigating our offices
  • Hearing, vision, sensory, mobility, cognitive, or communication needs

Please contact us as early as possible when arranging an accommodation so we have time to evaluate and coordinate the request.

Third-Party Services

Our website may link to services operated by other organizations, including client portals, scheduling systems, payment or financing platforms, insurance tools, maps, videos, podcasts, and social-media websites.

We do not control every accessibility feature provided by these external services. If a third-party service prevents you from accessing information or completing an important task, contact us. We will make reasonable efforts to help you identify another way to obtain the information or service.

Documents and Downloadable Resources

We work to make downloadable forms, worksheets, PDFs, and other resources accessible whenever reasonably possible.

Some older documents or third-party materials may not yet be fully accessible. If you encounter a document that you cannot use, contact us to request the information in another format.

Accessibility Feedback

We welcome feedback about the accessibility of our website and services.

When contacting us, please indicate that your message concerns accessibility.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility-related messages within five business days. The amount of time needed to address an issue may depend on its nature, the technology involved, and whether a third-party provider must participate.

Ongoing Improvements

Accessibility is an ongoing process. We may update this statement as our website, services, technology, and accessibility practices develop.

We appreciate feedback that helps us identify barriers and improve access.
