Hi! My name is Julia Parise. In my free time, I enjoy staying active whether it’s going to the gym or going on walks during the nice weather. I also love reading books. My favorite genres are romance and mystery/thriller. I have read 12 books in the month of January this year. It’s my new record! I love spending time with my two dogs, Bella and Snowy. They are both Maltese mixes. My favorite time of the year is the summer because I absolutely love going to the beach and spending time outdoors having barbecues.
I am passionate about creating a nonjudgmental safe space. I want my clients to feel like they can talk to me about anything in order to promote personal growth. I love working with teenagers and children who are experiencing unwanted thoughts and emotions. I know it can be difficult to navigate through different thoughts and feelings alone, which is why I am here to help! Sometimes we struggle with self-love and confidence and that’s okay! Pursuing therapy is a great way to head towards the goals you want for yourself. We will work on the barriers that may be holding you back, and ways to cope with life to enhance self-care and self-esteem.
I attended SUNY Old Westbury for my Bachelors in Psychology, I earned 24 credits at Hofstra University for a Masters in Early Education and Childhood Education, and I am now attending Adelphi University earning my Masters in Mental Health Counseling. I have experience working in elementary schools with children. I also worked as an ABA therapist for children and teens on the spectrum, and I am a certified Registered Behavioral Therapist.
