Stigma-free, affirming, and affordable therapy for LGBTQIA+ identifying Individuals

Our sexual identities can be experienced in a variety of ways.  Individuals experience gender from fairly fixed to fully fluid, and sometimes evolving over time.  At time our sexual identities are impacted by other identities, such as gender, race, ethnicity or lived experiences.  Whether you identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, MTF, FTM, transitioning, queer, pansexual, asexual or questioning this is a safe space to explore what those identities mean to you. We will create an environment free of pressure to pick a label and help you explore and find the language which best suits you. We strive to create space for you to claim and accept your identities and feel empowered.

Before clients come to Suffolk Family Therapy, they are concerned that a therapist won’t know how to see them beyond stereotypes. Many live outside of the heteronormative-cisgender box. They have been to other supposed “LGBTQ-friendly” counselors- who had no idea what they were talking about. They need a safe space to process their feelings, explore their identity, and assess their goals. They worry that they will experience yet again another interaction in which their lived experiences is minimized and/or negated. If you can relate to any of the above, then you’ve come to the right place. No judgments. No biases. Just a strong support system- with open ears.

Like our clients, you deserve to feel like your most authentic self. You do not have to hide who you really are when you come into our office. We know and understand that your identity is so much more than whom you love and how you identify. In your sessions together, you will process the pain from your past that continues to linger in present day. As an LGBTQIA+ friendly facility we are committed to helping clients of all genders, sexual identities and expressions feel not only safe but also truly respected. If you or someone you know is seeking help from an LGBTQIA+ therapist, contact us today. We would be happy to speak with you about how we can help.

By the way, we acknowledge you may already know and embrace your gender and sexual identities.  They may not be the reason you are considering therapy at all.  Please rest assured that if you are seeking someone who understands your identities so you feel safe opening up, but do not want to focus on them as an area of concern, we won’t.
