We work with adults, parents, adolescents and children.
"What is your pricing, and do you accept insurance?"
At Suffolk Family Therapy, we understand that your well being is your top priority, which is why we offer different therapy options to meet your needs and help you to better understand your out of pocket costs before receiving treatment.
Free Consultation:
There are many factors that affect the success of your treatment. Having a strong and trusting relationship with your therapist is one of the most important ones. Schedule a free 15 minute consultation to meet with one of our therapists before scheduling an intake appointment to determine if they are a good fit for you.
Insurance:
Since we are currently out of network for all insurance companies, our fees are considered self-pay. However, we will work with your insurance company to utilize your out of network benefits, if applicable, to subsidize your cost. If you’d rather work with your insurance company directly, we can provide a monthly Invoice that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
Individual Therapy Sessions:
Licensed therapist – 45 minute session $150
60 minute session- $175
Couples session- $175
Intern – 45 minute session sliding scale$65 (Interns practice under the supervision of a licensed therapist).
"What sets Suffolk Family Therapy apart from other providers?"
At Suffolk Family Therapy, we pair you with one of our therapists that understands what you’re going through, because they have been through similar experiences. It is very comforting to know that the person you’re paired with can truly empathize with your struggles.
We pride ourselves on our flexible service options! We have multiple offices, are equipped for in person and telehealth services, and can accommodate evening appointments. It’s so easy to make or change appointments through our online portal. And, our text reminders come in handy when you have a busy schedule!
In addition, as a client of SFT, you will be given access to Blueprint, a digital tool that helps you track your healing journey, your progress and setbacks. Using measurement-based care, our therapists can better tailor your treatment strategies.
Lastly, we are a safe space and a community of healers. We offer many ways to connect with our team, in addition to one on one sessions!
"Do you offer in-person therapy appointments?"
Yes! We have two offices in Suffolk County. One located in Bohemia and the other in Smithtown.
We also offer Telehealth services. While the idea of seeing a therapist online may seem strange and uncomfortable at first, there are also many benefits:
No need to travel: Therapy online takes away the pressure to arrive at the appointment at your designated time. Instead, you simply log onto your computer and start the session- and then get right back to continue your day. No long drives, traffic, waiting in waiting rooms. For those with mobility issues or transportation issues this is a major perk.
Convenience: Online therapy makes it easier to fit therapy into your day. You can fit in your session during your lunch break, at nap time, during your child’s free time (if it’s for them), or between meetings. And again- just go right back to your day when the session is over.
Safety: With therapy from the safety of your own home, you can rest assured knowing that you are not potentially being exposed to COVID19. With all the unknowns about the virus, spending 45 minutes in an enclosed room is an unnecessary risk at this point. Working online takes away the weariness that would likely come along with either of us giving an occasional cough or leaning in a little closer than six feet…
Privacy: No more worries about seeing those you know in the waiting room. We use a HIPPA compliant system that is user friendly. No need to download an app just go to the link provided, put in your name and you are all set.
Online Counseling may be a good fit for you if:
You want to start therapy as soon as possible
You’re open to trying it
You feel comfortable using a computer (or phone)
You have reliable internet access
"What if I need to reschedule or cancel?"
We understand – life happens! Although the necessity to cancel and reschedule can happen and is completely understandable, please note that at Suffolk Family Therapy, we charge for a full session when you cancel your scheduled session on “short notice.” Short notice is considered canceling within 24 hours of your session.
This is common practice for most therapy offices and other medical professionals. We list this policy in our intake paperwork in multiple locations and do our best to review with you during your initial session.
Remember: You are not your mental illness! Start your therapy journey today by requesting a free consultation to connect with the therapist who best fits you.
